Jewelery classes in the workshop!

After half term we will have a specialist coming to DBS once a week to teach you how to make jewelery! You get to learn how to make a ring and then you get to take it home with you.....

More details to follow soon, however it will be on a Monday straight after school for an hour.

DT competition- term 2

Have you ever thought to yourself that you could design a product better? Or come up with a better solution? well now is your chance! 

This term is your chance to show how creative you can be.... You are to design a product, it could be anything... you could design a piece of furniture out of recycled material, a gadget, a piece of clothing or it could be a simple solution to an existing design problem. 

Did you know that the Post-it notes where designed n 1974 by Art Fry and Spencer Silver? Think of other great products...the I phone, I pad, the PC, mobile phones....and the simple lemon squeezer designed by Philippe Stark in 1989. Who knows...you could be the next Steve Jobs! 

Have a look at the images below...one of the designs is a concept design for a Sony bracelet computer! The technology isn't available yet for it to be created.....but who knows...
